I've never felt so shaky and unprepared going into a Nano. For seven years, I've been a planner. This year, as I embark on Host, the second book in my "Lola, Party of Eight' series, I'm flying by the seat of my pants.
If my fingers could talk, they'd tell you they are bleeding. They would beg you to make me stop. But I simply can't. There's still more of the story to tell and I'm on a roll. After finishing first round edits to Alters, I'll take a week off - reading and marketing - and then head into 2015 Nano planning. I can't be sure what the result will be, but it will be exciting to find out. After all, as my dear friend Katherine Murphy would say, "Sometimes, it's not about the happy ending. It's about the journey."
