After spending the week putting final touches on “Crazy Like Me” synopses and press releases, I was dreading checking my email after a 10 hour day with clients Wednesday. There’s nothing like having 20 pages of case notes to do when your heart is into being artistic (or maybe more into dreaming creatively). But nothing will get you over a hump day like another book contract offer! And so, 11 months after signing my first book contract for “Crazy Like Me,” I’ve just signed a contract for a second book, “Wave to Papa,” with Limitless Books – check them out at http://www.limitlesspublishing.net/!
I cannot say how excited I am to work this this group – a publisher I’ve watched through social media for a few years now. Many who have been following my blogs and supporting me have cheered me on as I brought “Wave to Papa” to life. To know that another work, this one so different from the tongue-and-cheek style of “Crazy Like Me,” will be born soon is incredible!
For those who haven’t heard about it, here’s the basic gist: Dawn Winchester stands on the courthouse steps holding her toddler son, Noah. The boy is shy and bruised. It’s the second time they’ve stood together like this after Noah’s father has “had an accident” while watching him. But this time, the media wants answers and a lynch mob is coming straight for Dawn – a self-described ‘good Christian’ woman now at risk of losing a second child. Dawn must decide whether to believe her husband and stand by him; despite the serious allegations against him. Scared and alone, she must ask herself: At what point is an accident only an accident and when is it time to step up and protect your child?
A much more serious novel, this book takes a close look at the human spirit and what it is to be a mother. As a mother, I take that job pretty serious – a heck of a lot more serious than anything else in my life, including my writing career. It’s my hope that the character of Dawn makes my readers question just how far they would go for their child. And maybe, learn a little more about themselves along the way!
Stay tuned for updates. Of course, all of this is new, so I have no information about release dates, etc. (“Crazy Like Me” is still on track to be released this summer for those who have been asking). I will let you know where each of these is available as I do. Thank you for your support, encouragement, and positive vibes along the way! You keep me typing away, even when my fingers don’t want to. ;-)
I just published my first novel, Crazy Like Me with Savant Publications. This, my second novel, Wave to Papa, will be released on Sept. 8, 2015!
